Instrument condition description
The mandolin appears totally in original condition, with the exception of a poorly fit bridge base. The bridge appears original, and includes the patent date. The saddle is collapsed. Starting with the most glaring flaw, the back seam is open about 40%. There is a superficial check in the treble side right at the butt block. Three minor top checks, one at each dot of the treble f-hole, and one at the interior corner of the lower point, running into the top about a half inch. Binding has a loose section on the treble edge of the fretboard, and the 3rd string tuner button screw is missing. Finish is in reasonably good condition, with a few minor latex paint specs on the top. Plating on the tailpiece is well worn, and the tuner plates and gears have some corrosion. The original case is included, is sound and in reasonably good cosmetic condition...all latches work and the handle is useable.
